Canadian Super Bowl audience falls short of 2024

Bell Media says Sunday night’s Philadelphia Eagles victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX attracted an average audience of 8.5 million viewers across TSN, CTV and RDS

The broadcast was Sunday’s most-watched program of the day, with audiences peaking at 9.6 million viewers at 8:15 p.m. ET, leading into Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance. Overall, 16.6 million viewers watched some or all of the game.

The network says TSN’s live streaming audience increased 95% compared to last year, making it the most-streamed broadcast on record for the sports network.

By comparison, last year’s Super Bowl drew an average audience of 10 million across the three Bell Media channels when the Chiefs’ secured an overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers, breaking records for the most-watched Super Bowl.

In the U.S., Super Bowl 59 averaged 127.7 million viewers on Fox, Fox Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo, and NFL digital properties, up from 123.7 million viewers last year.

Fox reported record-high streaming viewership, with an average minute audience of 14.5 million, while Tubi delivered an average minute audience of 13.6 million viewers.
