Nat Hunter & Josie Dye to succeed Marilyn Denis on CHUM 104.5 mornings

Toronto’s CHUM 104.5 has announced that Nat Hunter and Josie Dye will helm the station’s new morning show, starting Monday, July 6.

The duo succeed longtime morning host Marilyn Denis, who announced earlier this year she was stepping away from the station after four decades. Her final broadcast is set for June 26.

The new show sees Dye move up from afternoons on the station, where she’s been hosting drive alongside Jamar McNeil since 2024. She’ll be joined by Hunter, who recently announced her departure from Vancouver morning radio staple, The Nat & Drew Show, after 22 years. The show currently airs on Bell Media’s MOVE 103.5 (CHQM-FM).

“In August 2003, I took a morning show job in Vancouver, thinking I’d stay a year or two before the offers to host mornings in Toronto came flooding in…nailed it!” said Hunter, in a Bell Media announcement. “But if there was ever a job worth waiting to come home for, it’s this one. It’s an incredible honour to follow the legend that is Marilyn Denis. And I couldn’t be more excited to build a whole new show alongside Josie, who will no doubt make sure I stop pronouncing the second ‘t’ in Toronto.”

“Being part of the next chapter of CHUM 104.5 mornings is something I have dreamed of for a very long time,” added Dye. “Waking up with Toronto is the most surreal feeling in the world, and doing it with Nat will be epic. It’s been such a fun experience connecting with CHUM 104.5 listeners over the past few years, and I’m so excited to help create the station’s new morning show.”

“Nat and Josie are phenomenal hosts who have spent their careers building a deep connection with listeners, and together they’re the perfect combination to wake up Toronto,” said Christian Hall, Program Director, CHUM 104.5. “Mornings on CHUM 104.5 is an institution. It’s about energy, connection, and great conversations that help our community begin their days. Marilyn has blazed the trail over the past 40 years, and we look forward to building on the incredible framework she’s created for this iconic morning show.”

Leading up to Denis’ final broadcast, the station will recognize her legacy with a monthlong celebration, including highlights from her 40 years with the station.
