Local Radio Lab (LRL) has rolled out the Indie brand across its radio stations.
The company acquired Indie88 (CIND-FM) Toronto, which carries an Adult Album Alternative (AAA) format, last year from Rock 95 Ltd. In an announcement Tuesday, Local Radio Lab said it’s now extending that “look” and “feel” across its properties.
“As we now prepare to enter 2026, LRL has made the decision to change the look – and in ways, the feel – of the stations to better match the branding that Indie88 brings,” the company said. “That means our other four stations in the company will now adopt the ‘Indie’ name.”
The rebranded stations include 101.3 Indie FM (CJML-FM) Milton, which evolves from Adult Contemporary format FM 101; 101.5 Indie FM (CKMO-FM) Orangeville, which was also branded as FM 101; 92.1 Indie FM (CIMA-FM) Alliston in South Simcoe; in addition to 102.7 Indie FM (CJFB-FM) Bolton, which Local Radio Lab acquired from Vista Radio earlier this year.
The stations will carry a hybrid Adult Contemporary/AAA format. The company says existing local hosts will be complimented by Indie88 personalities Bob Willette, Adam Ricard, and an evening version of The Morning Show with Carlin, Brent, and Jackie. Sunday morning Classics show, Sunday Diner, hosted by Willette, will continue to air on the stations, joined by Indie88’s Weekend Cafe.
“This rebrand has been a year in the making, and we’re so excited to finally share what we’ve been working on behind the scenes,” said General Manager Joel Grossman, in the announcement. “Bringing our stations together under the Indie FM brand lets us launch a fresh talent lineup, refreshed programming, and shared contesting across the entire network.”
“We’re really proud of where Indie FM is headed, and I’d personally like to say a big thank you to everyone who’s been listening and supporting us,” he added.
