PWHL announces inaugural All-Star Game broadcast partners

The Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) will hold its first-ever standalone all-star event, the PWHL All-Star presented by Scotiabank, on March 7 at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena, anchored by broadcast partnerships with multiple networks.

The marquee four-team, 3-on-3 round-robin tournament will be broadcast to Canadian viewers in both official languages, with TSN handling English-language broadcasts and Radio-Canada delivering French-language coverage. In the U.S., Scripps Sports will air the event nationwide on ION.

The league said in an announcement that those partnerships are evidence of the rapid commercial growth of the PWHL as it enters its third year of play.

“From the beginning, our players have been at the center of the PWHL’s growth, and our first-ever All-Star gives us a new stage to celebrate them — and bring fans even closer to the personalities that make this league special,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations. “Bringing the best players in the world together at Scotiabank Arena, with Scripps Sports, TSN, and Radio-Canada showcasing the event to fans across Canada and the U.S., speaks to how far this league has come in three years.”

The tournament will feature a 10-player roster per team—six forwards, three defenders, and one goaltender—split into four distinct squads: PWHL Canada, PWHL USA, PWHL International, and PWHL Rookies (comprising first-year league players regardless of age). Starters will be chosen via a combined vote from fans, players, and media, while reserves will be named by PWHL hockey operations. Following round-robin play, the second- and third-ranked teams will clash in a semifinal for the right to face the top seed in the All-Star Final.

The league has unveiled an official countdown clock at the Hockey Hall of Fame in downtown Toronto that will rotate to high-traffic city locations leading up to March 7, starting Sept. 25 at Union Station’s Front Street Promenade.

“We can’t wait to return to Toronto, where our story began, and mark another important milestone in the evolution of the PWHL,” said Scheer.
