Angela Jennings and Travis Farncombe found Skywild Pictures

Skywild Pictures is the new Toronto-based scripted television and film prodco, founded by writer and executive producer Travis Farncombe and TV executive/producer Angela Jennings.

Jennings, who’ll serve as president, will oversee the company’s stakeholder relations and corporate development, in addition to managing creative, financial and legal strategies, and daily operations. The veteran executive has produced over 700 hours of content, including series like MasterChef Canada, Canada’s Got Talent, and Luxe Listings Toronto. For the past decade, she’s been with Scott McGillivray’s MEM, most recently as president.

Farncombe (A Translator, 13 Minutes) will hold the title of CEO. Rounding out the senior leadership team is broadcast executive Tom Hastings (Cardinal, Transplant) in the role of Vice-President, Development.

Hastings joins Skywild as Vice-President, Development, focusing on development and production of all original scripted series and features. His prior roles include serving as Head of Original Programming at Paramount+ Canada, Director of Drama at Bell Media, and Creative Head of Drama at CBC. Among his credits are the Emmy-nominated Cardinal (CTV), medical procedural Transplant (NBC, Bell Media), Wynonna Earp (Syfy, Space), 19-2 (Bravo, CTV), Being Erica (CBC), and Arctic Air (CBC).

“Skywild Pictures is collaborating with the top writers and creators in the industry on a slate of bold, original content,” said Jennings, in a release. “Strategic and innovative partnerships – with both the creative community and commissioners – is the foundation of our company. With decades of experience, our team has an ambitious mandate to deliver undeniable stories and premium productions.”
