TVO appoints Ron Ahluwalia new VP of Strategy

TVO has announced that veteran policy advisor Ron Ahluwalia is joining the organization as Vice President, Strategy, helping shape the Ontario public broadcaster’s organizational strategy, planning and governance.

Reporting to CEO Pary Bell, Ahluwalia will work closely with the board and Executive Leadership Team, translating TVO’s public mandate and leadership priorities “into clear plans, disciplined execution, and measurable progress.”

“Ron brings a rare combination of policy, governance, communications and public-sector experience, along with a thoughtful, collaborative approach to solving complex problems,” said Bell, in TVO’s announcement. “His understanding of the environment in which TVO operates, and his ability to build trust and translate strategy into action, will be invaluable as we evolve TVO and deliver on our public education mandate for Ontarians.”

Ahluwalia, who assumes his new role effective today, has more than 15 years of experience spanning policy, communications, legislation, law, government and governance. His background includes serving as Director of Policy to the Minister of Canadian Heritage in 2022-23, where he handled files related to broadcasting, online safety, and the CBC; in addition to senior advisory roles in the Ontario government and other regulatory bodies. He was most recently Director of Policy and Communications at the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
