Brodie Fenlon

Brodie Fenlon has announced that he’ll be returning to CBC News in August as deputy editor-in-chief & executive director. Fenlon left CBC last June to teach journalism at Centennial College. He’d previously been with CBC since 2013, most recently as senior director of Daily News and Bureaus.

Armand “Arms” Bumanlag

Armand “Arms” Bumanlag, the former host of CBC Windsor News at 6, has left the public broadcaster to join Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington, ON, as director of communications & public relations. Bumanlag had been anchoring the TV supper-hour newscast since Aug. 2017.

Amanda Margison

Amanda Margison has been named the new executive producer for CBC London. Margison has been with CBC since 2001, most recently helping launch the new London, ON bureau. She’s also done stints as a reporter, anchor, and producer with the Halifax, Moncton, Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto bureaus.

Julie Snyder

Julie Snyder has signed on with French-language television network V to host and produce a new one-hour talk show starting in January. The new show, which will see Snyder partner with longtime collaborator Stéphane Laporte, will air Monday to Thursday at 9 p.m. ET and will be produced by her company Toros. Snyder hasn’t been on television since the finale of game show Le Banquier (the Quebec adaptation of Deal or No Deal) in 2017.

Ken Gould

Ken Gould is joining Imagine Communications as an account executive in Canada for its playout and networking business. Gould will be responsible for expanding Imagine Communications’ presence across Canada and supporting broadcasters and media companies as they migrate to IP, cloud and virtualization. Gould has previously worked with EVS Broadcast, Grass Valley, Nevion, Ross Video and TV Magic.

Ryan Archibald

Ryan Archibald, the former president and managing director of VICE Canada, has launched Gram By Grama global marketing agency “devoted to helping cannabis brands grow – from seed to scale.” Co-founded with Los Angeles-based media entrepreneur Ted Chung, Gram By Gram will have offices in Toronto, Los Angeles, Mexico City and London and operate as an agnostic creative division of Merry Jane – the cannabis digital media company Chung co-founded with Snoop Dogg. During his 14-year tenure at VICE, Archibald established VICE Studio Canada and oversaw the growth of Virtue in Canada, VICE’s Brooklyn-headquartered global creative agency. Former Virtue Canada lead Badr El Fekkak rejoins Archibald at Gram By Gram in the role of Chief Strategy Officer. Read more here.

Jeremy Paige

Jeremy Paige is the new GM/GSM for Blackgold Broadcasting. Based in Leduc, AB, Paige will oversee both CJLD-FM (Leduc) and CKSS-FM (Stony Plain). Paige has held various radio roles over the last two decades. He was most recently part of the Rogers Edmonton digital and radio sales team and was formerly GSM of Newcap’s Alberta East stations.

Jasmine Bala

Jasmine Bala has joined Global News Lethbridge as a videojournalist. Bala is a recent Ryerson Journalism grad, who just completed an internship with Global BC.

Brandon Lane

Brandon Lane has been appointed Producer of Development for Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana. Under the lead of Athena Georgaklis, Head of Development, Lane will be responsible for overseeing the creative vision of certain development properties and producing training programs to elevate the skills of Nelvana’s in-house storytellers. A Daytime Emmy Award and Canadian Comedy Award nominee, Lane previously served as production executive for Corus Kids on Cupcake & Dino: General Services, Hotel Transylvania: The Series, Esme & Roy, Inspector Gadget and other shows. Prior to working for Corus, he held the role of development executive and associate creative producer at 9 Story Media Group.
