More voices join ‘Pro Canada Project’ radio PSA campaign

Singer/songwriter Andy Kim, Canada’s “First Lady of the Guitar” Liona Boyd and actor and comedian Shaun Majumder are the latest Canadians to join the Pro Bono Group’s Pro Canada Project radio PSA campaign.

The new spots continue to build on the campaign’s “Shop as if your country depends on it” message, joining previously-released PSAs from Chantal Kreviazuk, Hayley Wickenheiser, Ron MacLean, Brian Williams, Arlene Dickinson, Ron James, Rick Mercer, Colin Mochrie, Deb McGrath, and most recently Peter Mansbridge and Cynthia Dale.

In his PSA, Majumder addresses his “self-deportation” from the U.S., saying Canada is where “he wants to raise his girls” and “tell Canadian stories.”

Kim speaks of his pride for his Canadian homeland, “where people often find the impossible possible.”

Boyd says nothing compares to the feeling she gets performing as a Canadian on the world stage, saying “I’ve toured with Gordon Lightfoot. You don’t get more Canadian than that.”
