Disney+ Canada is expanding its team with the hiring of longtime CBC-TV executive Mélanie Lê Phan.

Disney+ Canada is expanding its team with the hiring of longtime CBC-TV executive Mélanie Lê Phan.

Lê Phan has been with CBC since 2013, holding the title of Executive in Charge of Current Production, Comedy for the past five years, overseeing shows like North of North and Son of a Critch.

Based in Toronto, she joins Disney+ Canada as Senior Manager, International Content.

Her hiring follows Paige Murray’s appointment last December as Director of Development, leading the streamer’s Canadian content strategy. Murray was also a longtime CBC exec, most recently holding the title of Executive in Charge of Development, Drama.

Rounding out the Disney+ Canada team is International Content Coordinator Samantha Clarizio, who previously served as a Development Coordinator at Toronto’s Forté Entertainment.
