Halford & Brough join The Nation Network’s Daily Faceoff Vancouver

More former Sportsnet 650 (CISL-AM) talent is surfacing online as The Nation Network (TNN) revealed Thursday morning that Mike Halford and Jason Brough are joining Daily Faceoff Vancouver.

Vancouver’s Sportsnet 650 was abruptly shuttered by Rogers Sports & Media in July, alongside a total of six radio stations across the country, including Sportsnet 960 The Fan (CFAC-AM) in Calgary. Both Sportsnet properties were the last dedicated sports radio stations in their respective markets.

Halford & Brough, who formerly were heard weekday mornings on the terrestrial airwaves, will debut a new morning show on the Daily Faceoff Vancouver YouTube channel, starting Monday, Sept. 28. Streaming from 7 – 9 a.m. PT, the show will also be available via platforms liike Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music.

“Mike and Jason have built one of Vancouver sports media’s most recognizable shows through sharp analysis, strong opinions, humour and the chemistry their audience has come to know first thing in the morning,” TNN said in an announcement.

“Halford & Brough will break down everything surrounding the Vancouver Canucks and the NHL, from breaking news and trades to rumours, roster moves, game analysis and the biggest stories across hockey. They’ll also bring their perspective to the rest of the Vancouver sports world.”

“I’ve been pretty lucky in my career, and that run of good fortune now continues thanks to The Nation Network,” said Halford. “Brough and I knew we wanted to come back and keep doing what we love, talking about sports, having a laugh and connecting with the Halbro faithful first thing in the morning.”

“We’re very honoured that Mike and Jason have decided to join The Nation Network,” added Jay Downton, President of TNN. “It’s a super important show to Vancouver sports fans and aligns with our mission to become the #1 digital sports media brand in Canada.”

Former Sportsnet 950 staffer Jamie Dodd is also joining TNN as a co-host on Jeff Paterson’s Rink Wide Vancouver.

TNN announced earlier in the week that former NHL’er Sean Avery will launch The Sean Avery Show, a new weekly hockey podcast, on its HockeyFights YouTube channel, starting Sept. 23.
