Corus reintroduces late night talk network show

Corus Entertainment is reintroducing a late night talk show across the Corus Talk Radio network.

The Last Show with David Cooper will make its debut Monday, March 10 and be time- shifted across the country, airing weeknights on 640 Toronto and 980 CFPL London from 10 p.m. – midnight ET; 680 CJOB Winnipeg from midnight – 2 a.m. CST; 880 CHED Edmonton and QR Calgary from 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. MST, and 730 CKNW Vancouver from 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. PST.

The network was previously airing “best of” content from its daytime programming in those timeslots.

Cooper, a Canadian-born comedian who now calls New York City home after a decade working as a software engineer in Silicon Valley, has previously been heard on the Bell Media talk network, where he started as a fill-in host and contributor to Jim Richards’ late night show in 2021. Cooper has also hosted on listener-supported community station, WMFU, based in East Orange, New Jersey.

“It’s what happens when you mix relationship advice, scientific breakthroughs, and the world’s weirdest headlines into one show. Somehow, it all makes sense,” said Cooper, in a Corus announcement.

The Last Show is smart, engaging, and unlike anything else on-air,” added Mike Bendixen, Director of Talk Radio. “David’s unique approach to complex topics and his ability to make them both accessible and entertaining is what makes this show so special, and we’re thrilled to add him to our lineup.”

The show will be produced in advance of airing, but Corus says will be “on the ready for breaking news if required.”
