Veteran broadcaster Bill Carroll is returning to Toronto’s Newstalk 1010 (CFRB-AM), beginning Monday with a new one-hour show.
The Bill Carroll Show will air weekdays from 9 – 10 a.m. ET. Carroll will also continue The Morning Rush with Bill Carroll, weekday mornings on Bell Media sister station 580 CFRA in Ottawa.
“I am beyond excited to be back on the air at one of North America’s most historic radio stations,” said Carroll, in a Bell Media announcement. “Toronto is my hometown, and it’s a city with no shortage of important stories to tell and conversations to have. I’m looking forward to connecting with listeners and being part of the discussion every weekday morning.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Bill back to Newstalk 1010,” added Program Director Robert Turner. “Bill is a trusted broadcaster with a deep connection to Toronto and a passion for engaging, thoughtful discussion. As the city continues to tackle important issues and looks ahead to the future, he’ll bring listeners the insight they expect from one of Canada’s best talk show hosts.”
Carroll has been with Bell Media since 2016, arriving from the afternoon drive time slot on AM640 (CFIQ-AM) Toronto, while also holding down middays on KFI Los Angeles, where he started hosting in 2010. He previously worked with CFRB from 1998 to 2004, initially as a weekend newscaster, and then news director, before assuming a talk show role.
The addition of The Bill Carroll Show essentially time shifts Newstalk 1010’s lineup one hour later, following the morning show, as follows:
- 6 – 9 a.m.: Moore in the Morning
- 9 – 10 a.m.: The Bill Carroll Show
