Bell’s Kitchener Virgin and BOUNCE Radio stations set to swap signals

iHeartRadio Canada’s Kitchener-Waterloo radio stations, BOUNCE Radio (CKKW-FM) and Virgin Radio (CFCA-FM), are set to swap signals on Tuesday morning.

Starting at 9 a.m. ET, Bounce Radio will move its Adult Hits format to 105.3 FM and Virgin Radio to 99.5 FM. Bell Media says Bounce Radio’s move to its new dial position will significantly expand its reach regionally, beyond Kitchener-Waterloo and into communities across Southwestern Ontario. Conversely, Virgin Radio’s move down the dial will allow the CHR [Contemporary Hit Radio] brand to continue serving listeners in Kitchener-Waterloo.

“This change is designed to align each station with the signal coverage that best supports its audience and reach,” said Brad Gibb, Program Director, Southwestern Ontario, Bell Media, in an announcement. “The stations are trading places on the dial, while preserving the local programming, trusted on-air personalities, and listening experience our audiences know and love.”

“By positioning each station on the frequency best suited to its brand, we’re creating stronger opportunities to connect with listeners while maintaining the same great content and local connection they expect from us every day,” added Jennifer McLellan, General Manager, Radio and TV – Southwestern Ontario, Bell Media. “Moving BOUNCE Radio to 105.3 expands the brand’s reach across the region, and Virgin Radio 99.5 continues to be a strong local destination for Kitchener-Waterloo listeners, connected with our Virgin stations in Toronto and London.”

In addition to being available for listening locally, both stations are available to stream online via iHeartRadio.com and the iHeartRadio Canada app.
