Dean Rutherford appointed VP of Sales for Stingray Radio

Stingray has announced that after an extensive search, Dean Rutherford will be joining the Stingray Radio team as the company’s new Vice President of Sales.

Dean Rutherford

Rutherford was most recently Director of National Sales & Audio Lead at Bell Media, where his team was also responsible for Stingray Radio’s national sales effort for the last nine years. He’d been with Bell and previously Astral for 25 years.

He knows our stations, he’s worked closely with many of our leaders, and he appreciates our culture and values,” Stingray Radio President Steve Jones, wrote in an internal memo provided to Broadcast Dialogue. “Dean’s expertise in integrating traditional and digital media strategies aligns perfectly with our vision for Stingray Radio’s future, focusing on radio as our core business while elevating our digital and retail audio properties to new heights. He’s a positive, charismatic and enthusiastic individual, and his leadership style is rooted in strategic business planning, strong communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement—all qualities that will serve Stingray Radio well as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Rutherford succeeds VP of Revenue Management & Local Sales Scott Johns, who announced his retirement in April.

His first day with Stingray is expected to be July 2.
