Rick Campanelli joins mornings on Evanov’s Z103.5

Evanov Communications flagship station Z103.5 (CIDC-FM) has unveiled a new morning show that sees former ET Canada and MuchMusic personality Rick Campanelli paired with Sandra Crofford, who formerly hosted the station’s midday show.

Airing weekdays from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m., the show will feature hits from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s with Campanelli also providing local and global news headlines, including the latest entertainment news with “What’s Trending” at 6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Starting at 8:30 a.m., DJ Drew joins the show, mixing up the hits with the daily Z Morning Mix.

“As we know, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world. The radio landscape is no different and has needed to evolve and adapt to the times,” said Z103.5 Program Director and Music Director Matt Wreggitt, in a release. “In this context, we felt it was time to introduce an exciting new morning team. We are certain Rick and Sandra will provide entertaining programming to our listeners and deliver what our listeners want and need to hear.”

Campanelli, 51, who rose to Canadian pop culture icon status as “Rick the Temp” during his decade-long run with MuchMusic, went on to report for ET Canada for 12 years. He previously had a brief run in radio as a morning show co-host on Toronto’s 102.1 The Edge (CFNY-FM) in 2016, alongside Fred Kennedy and Melanie Mariani.

Crofford also did a previous stint with 102.1 The Edge as a swing host in the mid-2000s. In addition to previously hosting middays and afternoons in two separate stints with Z103.5, she’s also been on-air at 104.5 CHUM FM, 99.9 Virgin Radio (CKFM-FM) and CHYM 96.7 as well as Evanov’s Hot 100.5 (CFJL-FM) Winnipeg.
