David Rusch joins Broadcast Dialogue as senior account exec

David Rusch, a broadcast industry sales and marketing veteran, has joined Broadcast Dialogue as a Senior Account Executive.

Rusch is currently a consultant for broadcast equipment manufacturers representative, Audio Broadcast Canada, and prior to that served as Vice-President, North American Sales and Marketing, for Orban.

Rusch, who is based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, will develop and execute multimedia marketing campaigns for new and existing clients of the publication.

“David is a broadcast industry sales and marketing leader,” said Shawn Smith, Publisher of Broadcast Dialogue and President of Momentum Media Marketing. “Broadcasters and vendors to the industry are rapidly pivoting their businesses to prepare for the post-Covid era. David uniquely understands their challenges and will deploy all of our interactive assets and industry relationships to help our clients makes sales and achieve their goals, in a whole new way.”

Rusch was with Orban from 2001 to 2016 and is a former client of Broadcast Dialogue. In fact, that’s how he met his wife, Jane Rusch, President of Audio Broadcast Canada, and Broadcast Dialogue’s former Sales Manager from 1999 to 2013.

“While at Orban, in the early 2000s and forward, we were a client of Broadcast Dialogue. I met Jane in Las Vegas at NAB 2005, and then attended my first CCBE (Central Canada Broadcast Engineers) Conference with her in 2007 when Howard and Ingrid Christensen were the publishers,” explained Rusch. “We were again Broadcast Dialogue clients through Audio Broadcast Canada and were impressed with the newer multimedia aspects of the online publication and its exclusivity to the Canadian broadcast community. Their staff was enjoyable to work with, and the emerging situation had all the right elements, so now I’m pleased to join their efforts to support Canadian broadcasters and their vendors.”

Among other industry endeavours, Rusch continues to help develop and execute the Society of Broadcast Engineers Teleconference Series with Bob Orban in the U.S.
