Valérie Héroux to join Stingray management team

Stingray Digital Group Inc. has announced that Valérie Héroux will join its management team as Vice-President, Content Acquisition and Programming, effective Nov. 11.

Valérie Héroux

Based in Montreal, Héroux will report to Mathieu Péloquin, SVP Marketing and Content, and oversee Stingray’s content and programming team as well as publishing and label relations.

Héroux steps into the role from Vidéotron, where she’s been Senior Director of Content and Strategic Partnerships for the last decade, leading strategic negotiations as well as CRTC commercial arbitrage. She also oversaw the development and execution of business plans to distribute over 200 channels, including On-Demand content for all media platforms. She started with Quebecor in 2007 as Senior Legal Counsel for Québecor Média, where she served as chief negotiator for the renewal of the UDA and Groupe TVA collective agreements, enabling new multiplatform rights for internal productions and the hiring of artists.

“I’m excited to set the groundwork for advancing the company’s growth objectives for the ever-growing content demands,” said Héroux, in a press release. “Stingray’s foothold in the media and technology industry is impressive, and the company’s ambition is immeasurable. I’m looking forward to applying my expertise to propel the content offering to even greater heights.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Héroux to Stingray during this exciting time of exponential growth in our content offering,” stated Péloquin. “Ms. Héroux’s experience in the On-Demand and broadcasting world will be invaluable to strengthen current agreements and cement lasting partnerships with a wider net of providers.”
