Snap Canada GM Matt McGowan joins Bell Media as SVP, Business Solutions

Bell Media has hired Snapchat Canada lead Matt McGowan in the newly-created role of Senior Vice-President, Business Solutions.

McGowan has been with Snap Inc. as Managing Director and General Manager for Canada since 2019. His new position with Bell will see him lead the go-to-market team and oversee strategy and execution of advertising sales and partnerships at Bell Media.

“Matt is a focused, forward-thinking leader with a proven ability to cultivate a high performing team culture and drive business results,” said Sean Cohan, President, Bell Media, in a company announcement. “I look forward to collaborating with Matt as Bell Media continues to transform from leading Canadian broadcaster to digital media and content leader with global impact, while prioritizing our broad Canadian audience and our valued partners.”

Prior to Snapchat, McGowan was the president of marketing automation platform, Adestra. He’s also served as Head of Advertising Strategy for Google. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Visa, and the Board of Directors for IAB Canada as well as New York-based ad agency, StrawberryFrog.
