Woodbine marquee races to be broadcast on Citytv, CBC

Woodbine Entertainment is partnering with Citytv and CBC to bring the Toronto track’s marquee racing events to television and streaming platforms.

Citytv, which has previously aired the U.S. Triple Crown, is set to broadcast upcoming events, The King’s Plate – Canada’s most prestigious horse race – on Aug. 15, and Woodbine Mile, while CBC will stream other marquee Woodbine races via CBC Gem and the CBC Sports YouTube channel, in addition to several prominent international races via a partnership with UK media rights holder, HBA Media.

The partnership got underway Sunday with the Woodbine Oaks Presented by Stella Artois, Canada’s premier race for fillies.

“These partnerships represent an exciting opportunity to showcase the passion, tradition and excitement of horse racing to audiences across Canada,” said Michael Copeland, CEO, Woodbine. “By partnering with Citytv and CBC, we are expanding access to some of our biggest racing events and creating new opportunities to experience the sport.”
