UPFRONTS: Bryan & Sarah Baeumler headline Rogers’ specialty channel originals

Rogers Sports & Media has unveiled its 2026/27 lineup of new and returning programming across its specialty channels – Bravo, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, FX, Magnolia Network, and Investigation Discovery (ID) – headlined by two new unscripted series from Bryan and Sarah Baeumler.

Part of their exclusive multi-year production deal for HGTV in Canada, Baeumler Ranch (working title) follows the couple as they descend on the Prairies to transform a sprawling Rocky Mountain ranch into a world-class destination. Sarah Baeumler By Design, meanwhile, tackles major transformations – from homeowners with once-in-a-lifetime personal milestones, to business owners on the verge of a critical launch – while racing against the clock to deliver a showstopping space. Broadcast details will be announced in the coming months.

The Baeumlers will also host new HGTV original series Home Town Takeover Canada, with production set to begin this month. Based on the U.S. format, the show involves a full-scale small-town revitalization, transforming homes, businesses and public spaces while breathing new life into a deserving Canadian community.

“Bryan and Sarah Baeumler are household names who’ve built an incredible connection with HGTV audiences in Canada,” said Kale Stockwell, Head of Original Programming, Rogers Sports & Media, in an announcement. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Baeumlers to bring fresh, inspiring lifestyle content with the familiar faces HGTV audiences have come to know and love.”

Other new Canadian Originals include the previously-announced Deadliest Catch: Northern Edge for Discovery (with production currently underway in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and the North Atlantic), and Restaurant Impossible: Last Call for Food Network, which follows chef Aarón Sánchez and Canadian restaurateur Jen Agg as they rescue struggling restaurants across North America.

Additional titles coming to the channels include Vanderpump Rules: Lisa Las Vegas – Bravo; Secrets, Lies, Texas Wives (wt) – Bravo; A Very Haunted Renovation – HGTV; Big Bargain Holiday Showdown – HGTV; Botched Homes – HGTV; Alaska Frontier Rookies – Discovery; Rescue 911 – Discovery; and How It Works – Discovery.

“We continue to expand our offering from these highly sought-after brands – reinforcing Rogers commitment to delivering premier entertainment to Canadians,” said Hayden Mindell, Senior Vice President, Television & Radio, Rogers Sports & Media.

“Across our specialty portfolio, we’re investing in standout content that resonates with audiences, from fan-favourite reality and true crime to acclaimed dramas and comedies that viewers can’t get enough of.”

Citytv

Rogers Sports & Media’s Citytv has announced the return of 21 series, and the addition of two new shows. New this fall is Line of Fire, a drama that follows a family of law enforcement agents as they tackle cases for the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, Secret Service, and Department of Justice. It stars Peter Krause, Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom, and Charlie Barnett.

Coming to Citytv in January 2027 is a remake of The Rockford Files, starring David Boreanaz as private investigator James Rockford, newly-paroled after doing time for a crime he didn’t commit.

The network has also renewed Hudson & Rex, with John Reardon returning as Detective Charlie Hudson, as well as Citytv original series The Price is Right Tonight.
