Stingray’s CFCW leads radio winners at CCMA Awards

Edmonton heritage station CFCW led the radio category winners at the 42nd annual CCMA Awards, handed out over the weekend at Country Music Week in the Alberta capital.

Longtime CFCW Program Director Jackie Rae Greening was named Country Personality of the Year, with CFCW winning Radio Station of the Year (Large Market). Stingray’s New Country 95.5 (CKGY-FM) Red Deer was named Radio Station of the Year (Medium/Small Market). Rogers Sports & Media Country network show, Boomer’s Canadian Club, hosted by National Music Curator – Country, Wendy Boomer, won Country Music Program or Special of the Year.

Apple Music was named Retailer or Commercial Platform of the Year.

The performance categories saw Josh Ross crowned the top winner, taking home Entertainer of the Year presented by Edmonton’s Best HotelsMale Artist of the Year, and Single of the Year for his smash hit Trouble.

MacKenzie Porter was named Female Artist of the Year, while James Barker Band claimed Group or Duo of the Year and earned the Fans’ Choice Award. Rising star Owen Riegling won the CCMA Award for Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year, and Jade Eagleson rounded out the night, winning the Ford F-150 Album of the Year for Do It Anyway.
