Shannon Ella among multiple CCMA Awards nominees

Pure Country National Midday Host Shannon Ella, Edmonton’s 840 CFCW, and digital country music news outlet Front Porch Music, are among those heading into the Canadian Country Music Association’s 2026 CCMA Awards with multiple nominations.

Set to take place at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon on Sept. 19, CFCW (which captured the 2025 honour for the second year in a row and fifth time in the last decade) is among the stations nominated for Radio Station of the Year (Large Market), alongside fellow Stingray station New Country 93.5 (CFXJ-FM); Durham Radio’s KX 94.7 (CHKX-FM) Hamilton; Pattison Media’s 93.7 JR Country (CJJR-FM) Vancouver; and Corus Radio’s Country 105 (CKRY-FM) Calgary.

This year’s Radio Station of the Year (Medium or Small Market) nominees include: Evanov’s Hot Country 93.9 (CFWC-FM) Brantford; Starboard Communications’ Cool 100.1 FM (CHCQ-FM) Belleville; Pure Country 106 (CICX-FM) Orillia; Harvard Media’s GX94 (CJGX-FM) Yorkton, SK; and Peace River Broadcasting’s River Country (CKYL-FM) Peace River, AB.

Ella is up for both Country Personality of the Year, with iHeartRadio Canada’s Pure Country Top 50 Countdown also nominated for Best Country Music Program, Special or Digital Feature of the Year, along with Tracy Lynn (CFWC-FM); last year’s winner Jason McCoy (CICX-FM); Sam McDaid (106.7 Country, Ottawa (CIKZ-FM)); and Logan Miller & Jenna Weishar (On The Porch With Front Porch Music).

Alongside the Pure Country Top 50 Countdown with Lainey Wilson, Russell Dickerson and Shannon Ella (iHeartRadio Canada), nominees for Country Music Program, Special, or Digital Feature of the Year, include Heartstrings & Honky Tonks Broadcasting LIVE on 840 CFCW (CFCW and SILVERPLOW); Dallas Smith & His Band (Unplugged) Tour (Behind The Scenes) (Brandon Ferguson); On the Porch with Front Porch Music (Front Porch Music); and Russell Dickerson Holiday House Party (Warren Copnick and Ron Tarrant). 

In addition to his nod for Best Special, Copnick, Director of National Promotion at Sony Music, is also up for Industry Person of the Year.
