Gary Russell of Vista Radio has announced his retirement after a 35-year career in Prince George. Russell started on the graveyard shift, moved up to mornings on 94X (CIRX-FM), then PD and eventually ended up as Regional Cluster GM/GSM for all 10 stations in Northern BC. His last day will be June 29.
Dean Blundell is joining Rock Mornings with Craig Venn & Lucky on 94.9 The Rock (CKGE-FM) Oshawa as an ongoing contributor. Blundell, previously on The Fan 590 (CJCL-AM) and 102.1 the Edge (CFNY-FM), joined the show for the first time on Tuesday (13:00 mark). Since parting ways with The Fan in Feb. 2017, Blundell has been active on his website deanblundell.com.
Marianne Culbert is the new vice-president of production at Portfolio Entertainment. Reporting to CEO Lisa Olfman, Culbert will oversee production of all of the company’s animated properties as well as managing Portfolio’s animation studio. Prior to joining Portfolio, Culbert served as the VP of Production at Arc Productions, Mercury Filmworks and Nelvana.
