David Corey

David Corey, who recently resigned as VP of radio programming at Bell Media, is returning to his hometown of Boston to be the new PD at Country 102.5 (WKLB-FM). Corey succeeds Mike Brophey, who has announced his retirement. Before his arrival at CHUM-FM Toronto in 2006, Corey spent 22 years at Kiss 108 (WXKS-FM) Boston.

Louise Martin

Louise Martin is the new host of CBC PEI’s Compass. The Toronto journalist, who has family ties to the Maritimes, will take over the supper hour show this summer. She was most recently hosting and producing hourly and breaking news updates on the CBC News Network. She’s previously hosted CBC News at 6 in Windsor and anchored at CKLQ-AM Brandon, MB., RDTV Red Deer, and Stockhouse.com in Toronto.

Andrew Beckler, Seanna Jefferson, Marc Michaels, and Katlynn Millions

A slew of changes at Harvard Broadcasting’s X929 (CFEX-FM) in Calgary. Andrew Beckler and Seanna Jefferson move from afternoons into the morning slot vacated by Tyler & Lynch (Tyler Middleton and Chris Lynch) who are off to Pattison’s 102.7 The Peak (CKPK-FM) in Vancouver. Current X929 evening host Marc Michaels will now co-host afternoons with Katlynn Millions who arrives from Rawlco’s Rock 102 (CJDJ-FM) Saskatoon. Current Midday host Matt Berry moves off air as MD and makes way for Angela Valiant crossing town from Bell’s Virgin Radio Calgary. Graham Mosimann has been promoted from swing to evenings. Andy Berridge will swing into Mosimann’s position from Bell Media’s C100 (CIOO-FM) Halifax. The X929 changes will be in place for July.

Mi-Jung Lee

Mi-Jung Lee is CTV Vancouver’s new noon and 5 p.m. anchor. The veteran investigative journalist has been on-air since 1990 as a reporter and anchor at CHEK-TV Victoria and was B.C.’s first Korean-Canadian newscaster. In addition to stints at BCTV, VTV and Canada AM: Western Edition, Lee was the anchor/producer of CTV Vancouver News at 11:30 p.m. from 2001 to 2010.

Barbara Kay

Barbara Kay is no longer a regular contributor to CBC Radio comedy news trivia program Because News. In the National Post’s Full Comment, the columnist and conservative academic says she was let go from the panel “for my politically incorrect views on indigenous cultural appropriation (that I did not even express on CBC).”

Kiah (Tucker) & Tara Jean (Stevens)

JACK 96.9 (CJAX-FM) Vancouver eliminated numerous staff last week including the morning show team of Kiah (Tucker) & Tara Jean (Stevens), morning show producer Eric Chapman and afternoon drive host Rick Lee. Former JACK personality Kenny Jones, most recently morning co-host at Country 101.1 (CKBY-FM) Ottawa, has been filling in on mornings, but will be the new host of afternoon drive.

Shaugn Best

Shaugn Best is moving from HOT 105.5 (CKQK-FM) Charlottetown to take over mornings at New Country 92.3 (CFRK-FM) Fredericton. He’d been with the station since 2015 after a previous stint with Newcap Radio in Whitecourt, AB.

Richard Zurawski

Richard Zurawski is set to make a return to radio, joining BJ & The Morning Crew on Q104 (CFRQ-FM) Halifax, with The Q Files. The live, science segment will air Friday mornings. Zurawski was the longtime meteorologist for Rogers Radio in the Maritimes and host of the long-running segment The Science Files before his election to Halifax City Council last fall.

Astral Out of Home has appointed David-Alexandre Durocher a national sales representative. He will join the Montréal sales team under GSM Shannon Wells. Durocher was most recently manager of Media Creativity for Bell Media.
