Parks and Witherbee move from Virgin Radio to 89X in Windsor

89X (CIMX-FM) Windsor has introduced new morning show, The Morning X with Hannah & Jonny, featuring Hannah Witherbee and Jonny Parks.

Parks began helming the new show on Monday, while Witherbee will join as co-host in September, following her return from maternity leave. Witherbee and Parks had formerly been heard on Bell Media sister station 93.9 Virgin Radio (CIDR-FM) since May 2021.

The move follows a reinstatement of the station’s historic Alternative Rock format on 89X in late August.

“It’s a huge honour to a be part of such a legendary station,” said Parks, in a network announcement. “We’ve had so much fun waking up with Windsor over the past five years on Virgin Radio, and now having the chance to play the music that I grew up obsessed with on 89X is the cherry on top.”

“Hannah and Jonny are community champions who are wildly creative, authentic, and fun,” added Brad Gibb, Regional Program Director Southwestern Ontario, Bell Media. “Who they are in the halls is who they are on air, and they will thrive in the 89X environment.”

Taking over mornings at 93.9 Virgin Radio are Kim Scott and Lexie Farrer, beginning Monday, Jan. 19.

“Hannah and Jonny create genuine enthusiasm and an engaging atmosphere every morning,” said Jennifer McLellan, General Manager Radio and TV Southwestern Ontario, Bell Media. “We know our 89X listeners will love waking up with Hannah and Jonny. And our 93.9 Virgin Radio listeners can also look forward to a bright start to their day with Kim and Lexie.”
