Online & Digital Media News – Pelmorex moves forward as ‘AI-frontiered weather and climate organization’

Pelmorex Corp., parent company of The Weather Network, MétéoMédia, Eltiempo.es, Clima, and Otempo.pt weather brands, has announced the launch of a new generative-AI powered tool offering personalized weather recommendations. Your Weather Assistant, currently available on The Weather Network app and online in English, with French and Spanish language capabilities in development, blends weather data with language learning to provide users with real-time information. Patent-pending, recommendations Your Weather Assistant can provide include personalized forecasts, weather-appropriate wardrobe suggestions, activity and travel recommendations, and historical weather information. Pelmorex says this is the first in a series of innovations as the company positions itself as “an AI-frontiered weather and climate organization, with a focus on helping users and businesses make informed decisions using cutting-edge technology.” Read more here.

TVO Today’s Shift Happens is a six-part series of online videos that explore how people and communities in Ontario discover their power to pivot when their plans change. The first episode, “The Graveyard Shift,” is now available online and will be followed with weekly launches on Mondays through Nov. 27. Each six- to 10-minute video in the series highlights how desperate people are putting their faith into something new and unknown, from securing a new family home to preserving an aging community built on ideals, to safeguarding Canada’s refugee claimant system against biased technology.
