Village Media has expanded to Queen’s Park with the launch of its newest site, The Trillium. The subscription-based news service will cover provincial politics and policy at the Ontario Legislature, led by Editor-in-Chief Jessica Smith Cross, Deputy Editor Charlie Pinkerton and reporters Aidan Chamandy, Sneh Duggal and Jack Hauen – the former team behind QP Briefing, which Smith Cross and Pinkerton quit earlier this month after allegations of editorial interference and the remaining reporting team were laid off. Targeted at public servants, political staffers, business leaders, lobbyists and strategists, the website will be free for a limited time. Subscribers will also receive newsletters Monday to Friday, including “The Trillium Today” first thing in the morning, “The Trillium Wrap” every afternoon, and “The Weekender,” a Friday afternoon recap of the week, in addition to weekly podcast, “The Trill.”
