North of North leads DGC Awards winners

The Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) handed out the 24th annual DGC Awards on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Koerner Hall in Toronto, with CBC/APTN/Netflix comedy collab North is North leading wins with four, including Comedy Series Crew of the Year, and Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series for Danis Goulet.

Other series garnering multiple awards included The Handmaid’s Tale, Wyonna Earp: Vengeance, along with feature film, 40 Acres. This year’s Jean-Marc Vallee DGC Discovery Award was presented to Siksika filmmaker Trevor Solway, director of Siksikakowan: The Blackfoot Man.
