Corus Entertainment has announced that Daniel Eves, SVP, Networks will be stepping down next month.

Daniel Eves

Eves has been with Corus since 2016, starting as SVP, Specialty Networks, overseeing the network’s cable portfolio. He’d been in his current role since 2019, helping launch Corus’ STACKTV video streaming package. He had previously served as VP, Content, Specialty Brands & Digital, for Shaw Communications and prior to that, VP, Strategic Programming, Specialty, at Canwest.

“There are few executives who have programmed as many different networks as Daniel – from scripted to lifestyle, from factual to kids, and every format in between,” said Troy Reeb, EVP Broadcast Networks, in a Corus announcement. “His accomplished career at Corus has seen increased audiences across many of our channels and we thank him for his many contributions throughout his tenure.”

Jennifer Abrams

Eves will depart Corus on Dec. 15. He’ll be succeeded by Corus’ current VP, Programming and Multi-platform, Jennifer Abrams, who has been with Corus/Shaw since 2013.

Starting in the new year, Abrams will assume responsibility for all programming and content windowing strategies across the company’s 33 specialty networks, Global and the Global TV app, STACKTV, Teletoon+, and Corus channels on Pluto TV, set to launch Dec. 1 in Canada.

“An excellent people leader with a keen eye for picking great shows and creating great brands, I can think of no one better to lead our programming teams into the future than Jenn Abrams,” said Reeb, Executive Vice President, Broadcast Networks.”

Eves will continue with Corus in a consulting capacity to support the transition until spring 2023.
