Citytv unveils fall schedule highlighted by Murphy Brown revival

Citytv has released its fall schedule anchored by Candice Bergen’s return as broadcast news legend Murphy Brown (Sept. 27).

The network has picked up the CBS revival of the sitcom that ended its original 10-season run in 1998.

Bergen, who is now 72, is joined in the reboot by executive producer Diane English and original cast members Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud, as well as newcomers Jake McDorman and Nik Dodani.

The series will pick up on Nov. 8, 2016 – the night of Donald Trump’s presidential election – and then jump to present day.

Season 2 of critically-acclaimed original drama Bad Blood debuts Oct. 11 with star Kim Coates reprising his role as mobster Declan Gardiner. The second season picks up five years after Vito Rizzuto’s death with an ensemble cast featuring Louis Ferreira (Breaking BadS.W.A.T), Anna Hopkins (Shadow Hunters), and Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp).

City is also set to air new dramas Manifest (Sept. 24) and A Million Little Things (Sept. 26), in addition to star-powered new comedies Single Parents, starring Taran Killam (Saturday Night Live), Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl); and The Cool Kids with comedy veterans David Alan Grier (In Living Color), Martin Mull (The Ranch), and Vicki Lawrence (The Carol Burnett Show) playing the colourful residents of a retirement community.

The Simpsons join Citytv’s fall slate for its 30th season, premiering Sunday, Sept. 30 with 23 new episodes.
