CBC Saskatchewan introduces new morning host, revamped afternoon show

CBC Saskatchewan is kicking off its local CBC Radio One fall schedule with the introduction of a new host for Saskatoon Morning and a new afternoon show.

Stephanie Massicotte steps into the morning show host’s chair on Tuesday, Sept. 3. A familiar face in the Saskatoon market, Massicotte arrives from CTV, where she co-hosted and anchored the local edition of CTV Morning Live for a decade and was with the station for 12 years.

“Stephanie has a deep connection to Saskatoon and has a strong desire to tell stories of challenge, hope, aspiration and possibility on Saskatoon Morning,” said Paul Dornstauder, CBC Saskatchewan’s Managing Editor, in an announcement.

Heard weekday from 6 – 8:30 a.m., Massicotte succeeds Leisha Grebinski, who had been heard in mornings since 2013.

CBC Saskatoon reporter and producer Peter Mills has been named the host of CBC Saskatchewan’s afternoon radio show, formerly known as The Afternoon Edition. The show, airing weekdays from 4 – 6 p.m., has now been re-dubbed The 306, a nod to the Saskatchewan area code.

CBC said the new show “will have a focus on the Saskatchewan of today — more urban, more curious and a little bit younger.”
