Blue Ant Media makes senior leadership promotions

Blue Ant Media has announced three key promotions to its senior leadership team that see Jamie Schouela named Chief Operating Officer, Carlyn Staudt move into the role of President, Global Channels and Streaming, and Mitch Dent assume the title of President, Canadian Media.

All three roles will report directly to CEO Michael MacMillan. Schouela and Dent will continue to operate from Toronto, while Staudt will remain based in Washington, D.C.

Schouela previously served as President, Global Channels and Media, where he led the strategic direction and operations of the company’s free streaming and pay-TV networks. In his new role, he’ll Blue Ant’s M&A and business development, driving strategic growth, while also overseeing some company-wide service groups.

Staudt was formerly Head of Commissioning for Blue Ant Media’s free streaming and pay TV channels in North America and internationally, and for the last nine months had held the title of EVP, Global Channels and Brands. She’ll continue to oversee the company’s international channels business, including Love Nature, Declassified, HauntTV, Total Crime, Homeful and Love Pets, overseeing growth across FAST, SVOD, AVOD, YouTube and Pay-TV.

Dent’s previous title was EVP, Consumer Shows, Media Sales and Publishing at Blue Ant Media, spearheading significant growth across all business segments over the last eight years, including linear TV advertising and the acquisition of Canadian Connected TV marketplace, Media Pulse. He’ll continue to oversee advertising revenue across the company’s multi-platform portfolio, including Media Pulse.

The Toronto-headquartered international production studio, rights business and channel operator, says the leadership changes are aimed at supporting the company’s future business development, while also powering growth.

“These strategic promotions underscore the proven business acumen and operational strength of our senior team at Blue Ant Media, positioning the company for continued growth and enhanced value creation,” said MacMillan, in a release. “Their leadership will be crucial as we build upon our incredible momentum and pave the way for further expansion.”
