ACTRA Toronto announces Members’ Choice Series and Stunt Ensemble nominees

ACTRA Toronto has announced the nominees for the Members’ Choice Series Ensemble Award and the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Ensemble Award.

Prime Video superhero series The Boys leads the Stunt Ensemble nominees, while Bell Media, CBC and Citytv are equally reflected in the Series Ensemble category with nods for Shoresy, Murdoch Mysteries and Law & Order Toronto, among those nominated.

The 23rd annual ACTRA Awards will take place on Thursday, May 8 in Toronto at Koerner Hall at the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning with Angelica Lisk-Hann as host.

“The Members’ Choice Series Ensemble Award is a testament to the fabulously talented Canadian ensembles appearing in some of the award-winning Canadian television series produced right here at home,” said ACTRA Toronto President Kate Ziegler, in an announcement from the performer’s union. “With the upcoming ACTRA Awards in Toronto, we have an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our members and celebrate their contributions to this great industry.”

“Ontario continues to be a world-class production destination for both Canadian and foreign content thanks in part to the contributions of ACTRA Toronto’s amazing stunt community,” Ziegler continued. “It is an honour for us to recognize the outstanding calibre of the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Coordinators and Performers who have been nominated for this year’s Stunt Ensemble Award.”

Members of ACTRA Toronto vote for the five finalists and winner of the Member’s Choice Series Ensemble Award, while the ACTRA Toronto Stunt Ensemble Award winner is chosen by a jury of ACTRA Toronto stunt community members.
