Jacqueline Hansen joins Global as Senior Business Editor

Veteran business reporter Jacqueline Hansen is returning to television as Global News’ new Senior Business Editor and Anchor, beginning today.

Hansen is best known for her more than 12-year run as a business reporter with CBC News, filing across the public broadcaster’s TV, radio and digital platforms.

She left CBC to join BNN Bloomberg in 2022, where she hosted The Close, leading daily coverage of market developments. Hansen returned to CBC in early 2024 as a network anchor on CBC News Network

She makes her way back to television after a year-and-a-half-long stint in communications with TD, where she supported the Group Head of Canadian Personal Banking.

“Growing up on Vancouver Island, Hansen developed a passion for making complex economic stories accessible and relevant to Canadians,” Global News said in its hiring announcement. “She is recognized for connecting major business and economic developments to their real-world impact on families, workers, and businesses across the country.”
