Bell Media and Tom Green Productions announce co-development deal

Bell Media and Tom Green Productions have announced a co-development agreement that will see the Canadian comedian, actor, and filmmaker create original content for Crave and CTV.

The agreement covers both scripted and unscripted projects with Bell promising specific project details at a later date. Rory Rosegarten, Green’s manager, will serve as Executive Producer on all projects.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Bell Media to develop some of my ideas,” said Green, in a Bell Media announcement. “It’s great to be back living in Canada and working with one of the world’s premiere media companies.”

“Over the course of his legendary career, Tom has been a creative and comic visionary who has consistently seen around the corner to be ahead of his time,” added Stewart Johnston, Senior Vice President, Content & Sales, Bell Media. “We look forward to embarking on this new journey together as we develop dynamic projects and expand Bell Media’s mandate of making great original content that resonates at home, and abroad”.

The pact expands the comedian’s long-standing relationship with Bell Media, which most recently saw Green appear in Crave Original comedy The Trades. The announcement follows other recent Bell Media development deals with Point Grey Pictures, Lionsgate, and Elliot’s Page’s PAGEBOY Productions.

Since leaving Hollywood to return to the Ottawa area during the pandemic, Green’s production company has launched three projects with Amazon’s Prime Video. Debuting on the streamer last month, they include This Is The Tom Green Documentary, comedy special Tom Green: I Got A Mule!, and Tom Green Country, an Amazon Original unscripted series, following Green as he pulled up stakes and relocated from the bright lights of Hollywood to his newly-purchased country farm.
