‘Tarzan Dan’ makes his return to national network radio

“Tarzan Dan” Freeman returns to national network radio on Monday, Feb. 5 as the new host of middays on iHeartRadio Canada’s BOUNCE Radio stations.

Freeman announced earlier this week, he would be departing Stingray’s XL103 (CFXL-FM) Calgary and boom 97.3 (CHBM-FM) Toronto. He’d been helming weekends on boom since mid-October and filling in on XL103 since talent layoffs at Corus Radio’s former Q107 (CFGQ-FM) Calgary in late 2022 as it flipped to news/talk programming. He is best known as the host of national countdown show The Hit List on YTV throughout most of the ‘90s.

The new show – featuring hits from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s – will air from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. local time on 22 stations across the country, including Winnipeg’s BOUNCE 99.9 (CFWM-FM), Hamilton’s BOUNCE 102.9 (CKLH-FM), Kitchener–Waterloo’s BOUNCE 99.5 (CKKW-FM); Brandon’s BOUNCE 96.1 (CKX-FM), Grey-Bruce’s BOUNCE 92.3 (CJOS-FM), Simcoe County’s BOUNCE 104.1 (CICZ-FM), Lindsay’s BOUNCE 91.9 (CKLY-FM), Fredericton’s BOUNCE 105.3 (CFXY-FM), Halifax’s BOUNCE 100.9 (CKTO-FM), Grand Falls’ BOUNCE 93 (CIKX-FM), Bathurst’s BOUNCE 104.9 (CKBC-FM), Brockville’s BOUNCE 103.7 (CJPT-FM), Fort St. John’s BOUNCE 101.5 (CKNL-FM), Fort Nelson’s BOUNCE 102.3 (CKRX-FM), Penticton’s BOUNCE 800 AM (CKOR-AM), Summerland’s BOUNCE 98.5 (CHOR-FM), Osooyoos’ BOUNCE 1240 AM (CJOR-AM), Kootenays’ BOUNCE 95.7 and 106.9 (CJAT-FM), Salmon Arm’s BOUNCE 91.5 (CKXR-FM), Revelstoke’s BOUNCE 106.1 (CKCR-FM), and Golden’s BOUNCE 106.3 (CKGR-FM).

“Sooooo looking forward to being part of the team at iHeartRadio Canada,” said Freeman, in a Bell Media announcement. “BOUNCE is everything I love about radio: a chance to put some fun in your day together with The Music You Just Can’t Quit!”

“We are thrilled to welcome Tarzan Dan to the iHeartRadio Canada team,” added Sarah Cummings, Director, Radio Content, iHeartRadio & Orbyt Media. “Dan is one of the country’s most enthusiastic and engaging hosts, and his infectious energy and creativity are unmatched. We’re excited for Dan to take BOUNCE weekdays to a whole new level.”
