Vancouver-based production company Network Media Group has appointed Curtis White as its president.
Part of the group that founded Thunderbird Entertainment, White spent a decade with that studio helming its business development, corporate finance and investor relations initiatives. Since 2019, he’s been a Managing Partner of Caliber Ventures, a B.C.-based venture capital group providing financing and advisory services for emerging tech and media companies. White has been consulting for Network for the past 18 months.
“We are thrilled to welcome Curtis to the leadership team at Network,” said Ali Pejman, Chairman of Network Media Group, in a company announcement. “His unique set of skills and experience in media and the capital markets will be an invaluable addition as we evolve our boutique studio into a global content leader.”
White says his focus will be to support Network with a capital market strategy that will provide the resources to scale and deliver optimal shareholder value.
“It has been a tremendous pleasure working with Curtis over the past couple of years,” added Derik Murray, Founder and CEO of Network Entertainment. “As President, his experience and vision will be laser-focused on enhancing Network’s capital market aspirations. This is an important and needed step forward for Network.”
White succeeds Paul Gertz in the president’s role. Gertz had also served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), a position he’ll continue in. The former Executive Vice President of Rainmaker Animation, Gertz has also held roles including Director of Business Affairs for Lucasfilm Ltd. and SVP of Production at Hanna-Barbera.
