Corus Entertainment announced today Sangita Patel (above, left) has been promoted to co-host of ET Canada. 

Patel has been a reporter on the entertainment news show for 10 seasons. She will join the program’s long-time host Cheryl Hickey (right) starting Sept. 12 when its 18th season premieres on Global. 

“It’s been an incredible journey to be part of ET Canada for the past 10 years, bringing the best in entertainment to our viewers,” said Patel, in a press release. “I am honoured to be joining the one and only Cheryl Hickey as co-host, the first time that two women will be hosting together.” 

In addition to her role with ET Canada, in 2016 Patel hosted HGTV home reno series Home to Win. She was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for her work on the program. 

Patel has also utilized her national platform to spotlight numerous charitable organizations over the years. She is a supporter of Pathways to Education, Children’s Wish and the ONE Campaign. More recently, she spearheaded ET Canada’s HELP INDIA broadcast special as the country battled the COVID-19 crisis, bringing together some of the biggest names in entertainment to help raise over $135,000 for the Humanitarian Coalition’s emergency response efforts.

ET Canada airs weeknights on Global at 7:30 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT and can also be streamed live and on demand with STACKTV on Amazon Prime Video Channels and on the Global TV app.
