Flow 93.5 (CFXJ-FM) Toronto has parted ways with longtime assistant program director and on-air personality Mastermind and announced it’s bringing in syndicated American morning show The Breakfast Club, starting Mar. 16.
Paul Parhar (aka Mastermind) had been with the station since 2011. An influential figure on the Toronto hip-hop scene, Parhar is known for his relationship with artists like Drake. In fact, at the outset of Drake’s hip-hop career, the young actor famously flew into Calgary to tap Parhar, who was then music director and on-air at Vibe 98.5 FM (CIBK-FM), for advice.

The Breakfast Club, which originates from New York City hip-hop and R&B station, Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM), will air on Flow weekdays from 6 – 10 a.m.
Launched in late 2010, the show’s hosts include Charlamagne Tha God; Angela Yee, who is also the host of podcast Angela Yee’s Lip Service; and DJ Envy, a mixtape master mentored by DJ Clue, who has worked with Jay-Z, Fabolous, Janet Jackson, Nelly, Cam’ron and DMX. The show regularly features interviews with high-profile guests like Chris Brown, Pete Davidson, Da Baby, Roddy Ricch, Bernie Sanders and Trevor Noah.
“There is no brand in Canada more synonymous with Hip Hop than Flow 93.5. And there is no radio morning show in the world more synonymous with Hip Hop than The Breakfast Club,” said Steve Parsons, General Manager of Stingray Radio, in a release. “With the addition of The Breakfast Club to Flow 93.5, we strengthen our commitment to serving the people of Toronto with the best hip hop and the best on-air talent.”
Nationally syndicated by Premiere Networks, The Breakfast Club currently reaches 4.4 million listeners a week across North America in Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, Minneapolis, St. Louis, San Antonio, Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, and Cleveland, in addition to New York City.
