Ruby and Alex Carr, the sibling duo who took over mornings at 102.1 the Edge (CFNY-FM) Toronto just one year ago, hosted their last show on the station Wednesday.
Corus Entertainment revealed the news in a post from the station Twitter account.
Today is Ruby and Alex’s last day at the Edge. When good people leave it’s always difficult, but we wanted you, our listeners to hear it from us. Ruby and Alex are great people and this is a hard day. We’ve enjoyed having them here and wish them the best on their next adventure.

No reason was given for the departure, however station ratings were flat to down slightly, depending on which demo you consider, in the Fall 2019 PPM release. The station claimed just a 2.3 share A12+.
Mornings with Ruby & Alex marked the brother-sister duo’s first time on-air together and their first foray into the Toronto market. Alex Carr, who has a background in comedy, was previously midday host at Corus sister station CFOX-FM Vancouver, while Ruby was morning show co-host at Vancouver’s Z95.3 (CKZZ-FM). She was also the 2018 winner of the Allan Waters Young Broadcaster of the Year Award at Canadian Music Week.
Rick Lee, the program manager for Corus’ Hamilton stations, will be filling in as interim morning show host until further notice.
