AM 640 (CFMJ-AM) in Toronto is shaking up its lineup starting Nov. 7. Matt Gurney and Supriya Dwivedi take over mornings. Gurney comes to the station as a columnist and editor for the National Post, Dwivedi was a regular contributor to CBC and the Toronto Sun. They will be joined by the co-host of The Morning Show on Global television, Jeff McArthur. Mike Stafford hosts 9:00 a.m. to noon. Tasha Kheiriddin anchors noon – 2:00 p.m., bringing 20 years experience from CBC, the National Post and CTV NewsChannel. Kelly Cutrara handles 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Her previous stops include CFRB 1010 in Toronto, CBC and Humble and Fred Radio on Sirius Satellite Radio. Longtime AM 640 morning show host John Oakley moves to afternoon from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Quebecor Media Group has hired Randy Mauskopf as its director of media creativity solutions for Toronto’s English market, being responsible for business development for the company’s line of English-language magazines. Mauskopf was previously the director, media creativity, Quebec TV/Digital at Bell Media in Toronto. He also held media creativity positions with Alliance Atlantis, Astral Media and CHUM Limited. Mauskopf started October 24.

Anna Widomska, digital account manager with Corus Vancouver since September 2015, will transition from her current role to broaden her representation to include Radio and Television as an account manager on the Corus Vancouver sales team. Widomska will transition into the role November 1.

Moya Farrell, co-host of C100 (CIOO-FM) Halifax mornings for over 25 years, has announced she is leaving Dec. 16. Farrell’s first job was production assistant with CJCH/C100 before moving with CHUM Ltd. to CJYQ-AM St. John’s, NL as producer in 1983. Following a stint with OZ-FM, Farrell returned to Halifax in 1989 where she quickly moved from production, to creative and then to mornings. Farrell is moving to be with her husband full time at their home in Cape Breton after commuting to and fro for 10 years.

Matt Soper, morning host at KiSS 103.1 (CHTT-FM) Victoria, has resigned from his position based on family situations. Soper who had joined the station in December 2013 will leave tomorrow, Friday. He won’t be leaving the Rogers organization though having been offered the position as a morning show host at K-Rock (CIKR-FM) Kingston, ON.

Brian Bailey’s first day at Corus Radio Kingston was Oct. 24. Bailey is the new morning host for BIG 96.3 (CFMK-FM) and program manager for both BIG and fresh RADIO 104.3 (CKWS-FM). Career stops include morning host positions at Indie88 (CIND-FM) Toronto, Kool FM (CHBE-FM) Victoria and Big 105 (CHUB-FM) Red Deer. He succeeds operations manager/morning host Rudy Parachoniak who left the stations a couple of months back.

Karen Corey has returned to the broadcasting industry as Newcap’s retail sales manager for 89.3 K-Rock (CIJK-FM) Kentville. She had been GSM for AVR/Magic 94.9 (CKWM-FM) Kentville for 12 years before she moved to Scotian Gold Cooperative as director, marketing and business development and then Vermeulen Farms.

Mark Dickie, Kara Yamich and Leo Da Estrela have founded The Music Department, a company specializing in the outsourcing of music scheduling for radio stations. Dickie is former general manager of both Corus Radio Ottawa and Cogeco’s The Beat 92.5 (CKBE-FM) Montreal. Yamich was a music director and APD with Corus for 10 years and currently programs several channels for Slacker Radio. Da Estrela previously served as program director for The Beat 92.5 and is a partner with Yamich in Couture Media Inc.

Jeff Woods returns to the airwaves with Records and Rockstars, a one-to-three hour-long weekly program and a daily one-minute feature combo for classic rock radio stations. The radio launch is timed to the release of his book, Radio, Records and Rockstars, in select Indigo/Chapters stores. Momentum Media Networks will handle the station marketing and affiliations in Canada and the U.S. Woods was most recently the host of Legends of Classic Rock and host, writer, producer, programmer and online content director with Corus Entertainment for 15 years.
