TSN and CTV Saskatchewan airing Humboldt Broncos season opener commercial-free

TSN and CTV Saskatchewan will air Humboldt Strong – Humboldt Broncos Season Opener, live and commercial-free, Wednesday night (Sept. 12).

The Humboldt Broncos will face the Nipawin Hawks at 6:30 p.m. CT / 8:30 p.m. ET on TSN and CTV Saskatchewan, TSN.ca and the TSN app. Game coverage can also be heard on TSN 1290 Winnipeg, TSN 1260 Edmonton, TSN 1200 Ottawa, TSN 1050 Toronto, TSN 690 Montreal, TSN 1150 Hamilton, and BNN Bloomberg 1410 Vancouver.

An hour-long pre-game show gets underway on TSN at 5:30 p.m. CT / 7:30 p.m. ET, looking back at the Apr. 6 tragedy, while also looking ahead to the future of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) team and the community of Humboldt.

Hosted by James Duthie, the broadcast will feature Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, with play-by-play from Chris Cuthbert and colour commentary from Ray Ferraro. Sportscentre reporter Ryan Rishaug reports rinkside, with contributions from senior hockey reporter Frank Seravalli.

The home opener will be followed by an on-ice tribute ceremony.

The TSN Original features group has been spending time in the community of Humboldt for a documentary set to air on CTV and TSN later this year.
