CTV has confirmed its fall premiere dates with its 2018/2019 television season kicking off with the 70th Emmy Awards on Sept. 17.
Other hotly-anticipated new series include the reboot of Magnum P.I. (Sept. 24), Roseanne spinoff The Conners (Oct. 16), new primetime talk series The Alec Baldwin Show (Oct. 14), as well as the 12th and final season of The Big Bang Theory (Sept. 24).
New Series on CTV this Fall:
Premiere week (Sept. 24-28) begins with the sophomore season of break-out medical drama The Resident, starring Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife) and Canadian actress Emily VanCamp (Revenge), premiering Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, before settling into its regular Mondays at 8 p.m. ET time slot on Oct. 1.
Magnum P.I premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with the reboot of the classic series starring Jay Hernandez as ex-Navy SEAL turned private eye Thomas Magnum.
Humorous and uplifting new aspirational drama God Friended Me, starring Brandon Micheal Hall, airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Sept. 30.
The premieres continue in October with The Alec Baldwin Show, airing Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Oct. 14. The new primetime interview series features the three-time Emmy Award-winner in conversation with compelling personalities.
Marking the return of Canadian Nathan Fillion (Castle) to primetime TV as a man who pursues his dream of joining the LAPD in the midst of a mid-life awakening, new cop series The Rookie (Oct. 16) airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Oct. 16. Also on Tuesdays, The Conners (Oct. 16), a spin-off of this year’s hit revival Roseanne, premieres Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the family-focused, single-camera 1970s-era comedy The Kids Are Alright (Oct. 16) at 8:30 p.m. ET/ PT.
Returning Series on CTV:
The Big Bang Theory, Canada’s #1 series for eight straight years, returns for its 12th and final season on a special day and time, Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the sophomore season of Sheldon Cooper backstory comedy Young Sheldon, which also returns on a special day and time at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Both shows settle into their regular Thursday 8 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. ET timeslots on Sept. 27.
A weekly house call caps off Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with the return of The Good Doctor (Sept. 24), starring Freddie Highmore.
CTV’s fall schedule also sees the return of drama This Is Us (Sept. 25), alongside The Goldbergs (Sept. 26), which kicks off its sixth season by paying homage to cult classic film Sixteen Candles; American Housewife (Sept. 26); Grey’s Anatomy (Sept. 26), which kicks off with a two-hour premiere; Law & Order: SVU (Sept. 27), which marks its 20th season with a two-hour premiere; How To Get Away With Murder (Sept. 28), which moves to Fridays; Blue Bloods (Sept. 28); Criminal Minds (Oct. 3); Station 19 (Oct. 4); Shark Tank (Oct. 7), which celebrates its 200th episode with the Season 10 premiere airing at a special time (10 p.m. ET), before settling into its regular Sundays at 9 p.m. ET time slot Oct. 14; and Blindspot (Oct. 12).
Returning Series on CTV2:
A brand new season of The Voice returns Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV2 and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV, beginning Sept. 24 with a two-hour premiere. Tuesday’s episodes of THE VOICE then moves back to CTV2, beginning Oct. 9. Also returning to CTV2, the Ellen DeGeneres executive-produced comedy Splitting Up Together returns for a second season, beginning Oct. 16 at 9:30 p.m. ET. NFL Thursday Night Football and Sunday Night Football regular-season games return on CTV2, beginning Sept. 6 and Sept. 9 respectively.
ETALK will air 30-minute special CTV’s Big Fall Preview on Monday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. Hosted by ETALK anchors Ben Mulroney and Danielle Graham, the special features exclusive series sneak peeks and interviews with the stars of CTV and CTV2’s new and returning primetime series including Nathan Fillion (The Rookie), Jay Hernandez (Magnum P.I.), Brandon Micheal Hall (God Friended Me), and the cast of This Is Us.
