RTDNA Canada announces Regional Lifetime Achievement recipients, award winners

Retired CTV Windsor anchor Jim Crichton, CBC Radio Ideas producer Phillip Coulter, Bell Media Manitoba/Saskatchewan General Manager Jeff Bollenbach, and retired Global BC journalist Linda Aylesworth are among this year’s RTDNA Canada Regional Lifetime Achievement Award recipients.

Other honourees this year include Global New Brunswick senior correspondent Shelley Steeves, former Canada AM production manager Marie O’Neill, CTV London reporter Nick Paparella (who just marked 40 years with the station), VOCM St. John’s news/talk veteran Linda Swain, retired Vancouver business reporter Richard Dettman, former CFRB/Electric Entertainment and current County FM (CJPE-FM) producer Lynn Pickering, retired Global Calgary producer Joanne Reid, and GX94 (CJGX-FM) Yorkton news anchor Craig Wallebeck.

Kerry Marshall

RTDNA also recognized late Vancouver broadcaster Kerry Marshall (Holley) with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award. Marshall, best known for his time as a “rock & roll radio newsman” at CKLG-FM, CFOX, and JACK FM (CJAX-FM), passed away in August 2019.

Additionally, the association has announced the winners of this year’s Regional Awards in the West Region, Prairie Region, Central Region, and East Region.

The Annual General Meeting of the Radio Television Digital News Association will be held Friday, June 10 at its National Conference in Toronto.
