Ronnie Stanton has officially announced that he’s joined Virgin Radio International as Chief Content Officer.
Stanton, who left Corus Entertainment in December, will be working with the Virgin Radio brand in Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Oman, Romania, Lebanon, and the UAE.
The veteran programmer had most recently held the title of Vice-President, Audio at Corus, in charge of its 39 FM and AM radio stations, as well as the Curiouscast Podcast Network.
Over the course of a three-decade career in broadcasting, Stanton has worked across his native Australia, Canada, and the U.S., including stints as a morning show host with dmg media, Grant Broadcasters, and Prime Radio, prior to joining Astral Media in Vancouver in 2008 as Operations Manager and Brand Director.
He first joined Corus Radio in 2013 as National Morning Show Coach and then Brand Director for Vancouver’s CFOX, in addition to taking on the role of VP, National Brands & Programming.
A stint as VP of Content for Alpha Media in the U.S. and a turn as Regional Content Director for Grant Broadcasters on Australia’s Sunshine Coast followed, before Stanton returned to Corus in 2020.
That year, Stanton was named Program Director of the Year in Broadcast Dialogue’s inaugural Canadian Radio Awards for his work with CFOX and Rock 101 (CFMI-FM) Vancouver.
