Guy Laurence

Guy Laurence, former president and CEO of Rogers Communications, is the new chief executive of the Chelsea Football Club. Reporting to the club’s board of directors, Laurence will take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations and development. Laurence has previous experience in sport as a former director of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.

Cindy Day

Cindy Day is joining the SaltWire Network as its chief meteorologist, after leaving CTV Atlantic at the end of December. She’ll provide a daily weather feature for the The Chronicle Herald-owned network of 35 newspapers and online properties. Day will also produce videos and maintain a considerable social media presence, including blogging about weather topics.

Bernard Periatambee

Bernard Periatambee has joined Cineflix Media’s Toronto office as VP of development and will oversee original unscripted content. Periatambee had been with Frantic Films the last six years as VP of factual development.

Chris Love is replacing Carter Brown on the KiSS 105.3 (CISS-FM) Ottawa morning show. Love, who leaves 102.3 NOW! (CKNO-FM) Edmonton, will join longtime morning co-host Sandra Plagakis, starting Feb. 5. Meantime, Robbin Reay will join Ryan Lindsay on afternoon drive, starting Mar. 5. Reay has been with 97.5 Virgin Radio (CIQM-FM) London, and doing evenings remotely for 89X (CIMX-FM) Windsor/Detroit, since last March. She previously hosted drive on up! 99.3 (CIUP-FM) Edmonton & up! 97.7 (CHUP-FM) Calgary.

Rob Arnold

Rob Arnold is joining Mix 107.9 (CKFT-FM) Fort Saskatchewan as a sales consultant. Arnold left his account executive role with Bell Media Regina early last year to head up business development at Regina’s Hillman AV.

Allison Devereaux

Allison Devereaux is the host of new CBC Radio 2 show Absolutely Atlantic, exploring music from the East Coast. The show is airing in Atlantic Canada on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. (10:30 NL). Devereaux has been a guest host and reporter with CBC, off and on, since 2008.

Tom Henheffer

Tom Henheffer, director of News and Digital at VICE Canada, is moving on after just four months in the role. Henheffer was previously executive director of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE).

Ryan McKenna

Ryan McKenna, Toronto-based sports reporter/editor for The Canadian Press and Sportsnet contributor, is starting a new chapter as CP’s Regina correspondent.

Kirk Mason

Kirk Mason has concluded a 50-year broadcast career. Mason has been news director at 100.3 The Q! (CKKQ-FM) Victoria the last 28 years. Mason started his broadcasting career in 1967 at CFTJ Galt, ON. Listen to Mason’s final broadcast here.

Brad Maas

Brad Maas is the newest traffic reporter at News 1130 (CKWX-AM) Vancouver. Maas is joining the station part-time while he completes the Radio Arts program at BCIT. Maas has previously worked for Rogers Media in promotions at its Chilliwack and Abbotsford stations.

Lindsay “LA” Jackson

Lindsay “LA” Jackson is joining UP 93.1 (CIHI-FM) and New Country 92.3 (CFRK-FM) Fredericton at the end of the month to take on afternoon drive and APD duties. Jackson has been with MAX 104.9 (CKBC-FM) Bathurst since 2015 as PD and afternoon drive host.

Doug Harrison

Doug Harrison has retired from CJNB-AM North Battleford 45 years to the day he started with the station on Jan. 10, 1973. Harrison worked over the years in news, sports, as music director, program director, and held down various on-air shifts, including hosting the long-running Swap and Shop program.

Paul-Zakaib aka Tasso Patsikakis

Paul Zakaib, aka Tasso Patsikakis, has had his afternoon drive show cancelled by The Jewel 106.7 (CHSV-FM) Hudson/St-Lazare. Zakaib, was hired by the station almost three years ago, initially as midday host.
