Christian Hall to join Toronto’s CHUM 104.5

Bell Media has announced that veteran programmer Christian Hall will join Toronto’s CHUM 104.5 as Heidi Baiden moves over to the company’s syndicated programming arm, Orbyt Media.

Heidi Baiden

Baiden will transition from Program Director at CHUM 104.5 to Senior Manager of Orbyt. Prior to joining CHUM in 2021, Baiden was Regional Program Director for Bell’s Kitchener, London and Windsor stations. In her new role, Bell says she’ll oversee the Orbyt Media business with a focus on content development, partnerships & revenue growth.

Hall will assume the role of Program Director at CHUM 104.5. He was most recently with Rogers Radio in Vancouver, serving as National Programmer for Classic Hits, as well as Content Director for JACK 96.9 (CJAX-FM) and SONiC RADiO (CKKS-FM), up until management changes in late October.

Prior to joining Rogers, Hall held the title of VP, Brands & Content for Harvard Broadcasting’s 13 stations across Alberta and Saskatchewan, and served as the founding program director at X92.9 (CFEX-FM) Calgary for 15 years. He secured the Canadian Radio Awards’ Program Director of the Year honour in 2023.

“Some say ‘go big or go home,’ and today I’m lucky enough to say ‘why not both?’ Growing up in Southwest Ontario, I was lucky enough to get all the powerhouse signals coming in from Toronto (CHUM included) as they played a major part in my development as a kid who knew at an early age he wanted to work in radio. (I may have ruined a VHS or two with my weekly tapings of the CHUM FM 30).”

“I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to work at some great stations, with many amazing teams, and I can’t wait to get started with the team at CHUM,” said Hall.
