Ryan Parker, Jennifer Valentyne, John Garbutton Derringer, and John Derringer

Jennifer Valentyne is the new co-host of the Q107 (CILQ-FM) Toronto morning show. The station unveiled Valentyne’s addition to the show on Valentine’s Day. The long-time TV personality and recent host of The Bachelorette Canada’s live After Show joins John Derringer, Ryan Parker and John Garbutton Derringer in the Morning. Valentyne started her career at Key 590 (CHKT-AM) and is best known for her run at City’s Breakfast Television.

Marcella Bernardo

Marcella Bernardo is leaving her position as news and content director at Roundhouse Radio (CIRH-FM) to return to News 1130 (CKWX) Vancouver as a reporter/producer, starting March 13. Bernardo was an award-winning reporter at News 1130 from 2001 – 2004, before joining CKNW NewsTalk 980 as a reporter, anchor and fill-in host. She’s been with Roundhouse since its launch in 2015.

Tewanee Joseph

CFNR-Terrace has appointed Tewanee Joseph, Indigenous consultant, on behalf of Northern Native Broadcasting’s (NNB-T) CRTC application for a Vancouver Urban Aboriginal radio station licence. Joseph heads Tewanee Consulting Group Inc. and is a member of the Squamish First Nation. In the past, he’s served as CEO of the Four Host First Nations Secretariat for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Martin Marcotte is taking on the interim role of executive director, Technology Solutions in the CBC Transmission Division, replacing the retiring John Lee. Jacques Létourneau has taken on interim senior director of Transmission responsibilities.

Kristine Owram is heading to Bloomberg to be the Canadian stock market reporter. Her last day at the Financial Post, where she’s been the transportation reporter since 2014, will be Feb. 23. Owram previously covered business for the Business News Network and The Canadian Press.

Anne Vivien

Quebecor Media Group has appointed Anne Vivien executive VP of music development. In her new role, Vivien will helm Musicor and Distribution Select. Vivien has a long track record in music industry management positions in Québec, New York and beyond and as an artistic director, working with numerous artists including Muzion, Andrée Watters, Marie Élaine Thibert, Marie Mai, and Florence K.

Adam Mitchell

As part of the lead up to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, CBC & Radio-Canada Media Solutions have formed a new integrated sports sales & marketing team. Adam Mitchell, who has been with CBC Sports Marketing since 2015, will lead the team in the newly-created role of sports partnerships director. The team includes sales reps Rosemary Pereira, Michael Miller and Stephanie Moraes. Mark Thomas has also been promoted to senior team lead, Sports Marketing.

Mike Piperni has retired from RDS after 40 years in Montreal television. Piperni joined RDS in 2008 as news executive producer, and before that was news director at CTV Montreal. He also previously did stints in sports at both SRC and TQS.

Chris Cleaver retired this week after 40 years in broadcasting. Chris was chief engineer at Newcap Kelowna (CKKO-FM) and previously worked for stations CKIQ-FM Iqaluit, CJOV-FM Bathurst, NB, CHBC-TV (Global Kelowna) and CIRK-FM Edmonton.
