Erin Isfeld

Erin Isfeld has anchored her last newscast on CTV Edmonton. Isfeld had been a reporter and anchor with the station for 18 years, most recently as senior anchor of CTV News at Six. As the mother of teenagers, Isfeld told viewers the decision was “purely about her family.” She’ll be joining Edmonton International Airport (YEG) as Manager of Corporate Communications. Isfeld, who originally hails from Manitoba, started her career in the late 1990s with MTN (Manitoba Television Network) and A-Channel Winnipeg. 

 

Geoff Hastings

Geoff Hastings is the new senior anchor of CTV News at Six in Edmonton. Since 2019, Hastings had been anchoring the 5 p.m. broadcast. His career started at CTV Edmonton while attending NAIT, followed by stops at Radio NL (CHNL-AM) and CFJC-TV Kamloops, and Global BC, before returning to Edmonton.

Alissa Thibault

Alissa Thibault has joined Global BC as a reporter. Thibault, who had been with CTV Vancouver since 2019, revealed earlier this year that she’d stepped away from reporting temporarily after suffering from burnout and early onset PTSD. Thibault, who holds dual Australian-Canadian citizenship, started her career in news radio in Australia, before moving into television with Channel 9 in Sydney. She’s been working in television in Vancouver since 2017.

 

Effi Eustace

Effi Eustace has been promoted at Incendo to SVP, Sales for the Americas, responsible for boosting the producer and distributor’s development slate. Eustace previously held the title of VP, Sales & Marketing for the last three years. Prior to that, she was with Twentieth Century Fox for 19 years, ending her tenure there as Vice-President, Worldwide Marketing.

Andy Rice

Andy Rice has been hired as Managing Director of Business Solutions and Services at Pelmorex Corp., parent company of The Weather Network, MétéoMédia and Eltiempo.es. He will work alongside Pelmorex’s senior leadership team to build a portfolio of business-to-business weather and climatology solutions. Prior to joining Pelmorex, Rice was Global Lead for Sustainability, Climate and Weather Analytics as a Partner at IBM; VP Product and Analytics at The Weather Company and Chief Product Officer at Weather Central. 

 

Luke Smith

Luke Smith has parted ways with CIUT-FM as the University of Toronto campus and community station’s Board of Directors moves to take the station in a new direction. Smith had been Station Manager for the last year and a half. Prior to that, he served as Director of Learning and Development at the National Campus & Community Radio Association (NCRA) for seven years. Longtime CIUT-FM programmer Ken Stowar has been appointed Acting Station Manager and Program Director, while a new structure is contemplated.
