Pollster Nik Nanos hosts election podcast for CTV News

Nik Nanos, one of the country’s best-known pollsters, is hosting a new podcast for CTV News, alongside producer Michael Stittle, that will push out episodes three times a week leading up to the federal election.

Trend Line promises to provide listeners with insight into “the public mood of Canadian voters” with the 15-minute podcast offering analysis of the latest polling results and tracking numbers.

“Every election campaign features many unique stories and constant changes in public opinion,” said Nanos, whose company Nanos Research is the official pollster for CTV News. “We’re looking forward to breaking it all down as Canadians look to elect their next government.”

Co-host Michael Stittle, who joined CTVNews.ca in 2006 and is based in Toronto, leads the evening editorial team and has previously led online election night coverage. He was part of the team that won the RTDNA’s Ron Laidlaw Award for ongoing digital reporting on the 2015 federal election.

Trend Line is available on CTVNews.ca, iHeartRadio Canada, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, and Google Podcasts.

It joins Kevin Newman’s new podcast Attention Control, which debuted Monday, and explores the impact digital media and technology will have on the election.
